Photographs and film deteriorate due to their inherent chemical properties. Accelerated and extreme deterioration can occur from sub-standard storage conditions, physical handling and environmental factors such as natural disasters and fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Digitization has transformed the way damaged and deteriorated objects can be restored which saves you money. We use digital enhancement software to restore and repair damaged and faded photographs and film. If requested we embed metadata into the digital files and/or add captions to capture the story behind the images. Enhancing movie files with titles and narration contextualizes content. Adding transitions, applying color-correction techniques and re-editing (curating clips), repairing jump-cuts and blurred footage creates a more succinct narrative and provides a more pleasant viewing experience for the user. We always save a version of the original scan for authenticity.
